Keith is a Parish Councillor in Alwoodley in North East Leeds and chairs Alwoodley Parish Council Planning Committee.
Keith is a former Labour activist and councillor. Keith joined the Labour Party 1987, was a Labour Councillor for 23 years, and was a Labour parliamentary candidate in 3 general elections.
Keith resigned from the Labour Party in March 2019 and joined the Liberal Democrats in May 2019.

A Licensed Lay Reader in the Church of England Keith is active with his local church St Barnabas, Alwoodley where as well as being a Licensed Lay Minister he is also one of the Worship Music Leaders.
