My priorities and a track record of getting things done

My priorities include:

Keith tackling a local litter hot spot

Tackling the shortage of school places in North Leeds

  • Increasing the availability of affordable and council housing
  • Seeking more ways to tackle homelessness and provide support and accommodation for rough sleepers in Leeds
  • Continuing to deliver quality social care despite continuing cuts in funding
  • Working with youth and community groups to engage the whole community and make sure their voices are heard
  • Protecting our environment through transport, energy, and business policies

As a councillor on Dacorum Borough Council I had a track record for getting things done including:

  • Initiating and facilitating the creation of DENS, a homelessness charity providing emergency and move on accommodation for single homeless people
  • Leading the implementation of projects to tackle long term unemployment including for young people, women returners, and people returning from mental health problems
  • Setting up a neighbour mediation service and promoting the development of mediation to prevent youth homelessness as well as a schools mediation to tackle bullying in secondary schools, using young people as trained mediators.
